Axminster Town have now gone eight games without a win after a 1-1 draw yesterday (Saturday) at home to Elburton Villa. The point keeps them in tenth place in the South West Peninsular League Premier East division but the Tigers have games in hand on the teams above them which will open up opportunities to climb the table in the coming weeks.

Axminster travel to East Devon competitors Sidmouth Town on Tuesday evening where three points will be within their capabilities with the Vikings struggling at the foot of the table with only five wins from their 30 games.

Heavy rain during the week caused yesterday's Axminster Town home fixture against South West Peninsular Premier East high-flyers Brixham to be postponed.

This enabled the Tigers to strengthen their Reserve side for a robust 4-2 victory over Devon and Exeter Premier rivals Beer Albion. It was a typical local derby with both sides having a player sent off.

Charmouth need just one point for promotion

AFTER losing the first game in the double header against Perry Street Division Two top-of-the-table opponents, Charmouth were out to prove a point on Saturday.

The game may not have been the goalfest of the previous week when the Robins lost 5-3, but some great football was played.

Disappointing day for Swallows

UPLYME had a very disappointing Saturday, with both the first team and Reserves losing.

A young Reserves team went down 4 - 0 to a much more experienced Combe A, while the 1sts suffered a very disappointing 2 - 0 loss to Falcons in Division Six of the Devon and Exeter League.
