A DIVISION

Seaton Cricket Club's 1st X1 captain Ben Morgan has written himself into cricketing history.

In a last Saturday's away to Tavistock, Morgan took eight wickets, conceding just ten runs, to win a place in the Play-Cricket National Bowling Honours Board for the period July 29 to August 4.

His remarkable bowling performance enabled his side to dismiss Tavistock for 85 as they were chasing Seaton's score of 185 all out.

Tavistock won the toss and decided to field. Opener Robbie Prior (38) gave Seaton a sound start with useful contributions from Matthew Hewer (33) and Ben Morgan (32), setting himself up for good day's work.

Apart from Morgan's magnificent bowling performance, the other two Tavistock wickets were claimed by Mali Marshall at a cost of 33 runs.

The victory earned them 18 points, helping them in their fight to avoid relegation from the A Division. They still occupy the second from bottom place but have narrowed the gap with the two sides above them.
