A DIVISION

SEATON, who slipped to second from bottom in the table after losing by nine wickets to Barton, are looking destined for B Division cricket next season.

Barton won the toss and decided to put Seaton into bat. Things started poorly with opener Matt Hewer being sent back to the pavilion without a run on the board.

No 3 Robbie Prior put up some resistance with 40 runs, holding up his end for 111 balls, but none of the other Seaton batsmen troubled the scorer greatly and they were all out for 142 in 44 overs.

The home side knocked off the required runs, losing only one wicket in the process, due in no small way to No 3 Justin Saker who hit 92, including seven sixes, off 61 balls.

That lone wicket was taken by Robbie Prior who conceded only 23 runs off seven overs.

Barton 20 points, Seaton 2 points.

Uplyme secured maximum points required to maintain their challenge at the top by dismissing Barnstaple and Pilton for 127 in 21 overs for the loss of only one wicket. They were steered to victory by Steve Batey (58 not out) and Sam Farrow (44 not out).
