More than £300 was raised for the RNLI in memory of former Axminster resident Adam Bounds over the weekend.

The town was left shocked at the end of May when much-loved Adam, aged 41, died suddenly after suffering a brain haemorrhage.

Uplyme Football Club, where Adam previously played, took on a team made up of local emergency services volunteers in a charity game at their Venlake ground as part of Lyme Regis Lifeboat Week on Saturday.

Lifeboat Week was one of Adam's favourite local events and he always returned to meet with friends in Axminster and Lyme Regis during the week.

The game raised more than £300, adding to the overall Lifeboat Week total, which currently stands at more than £33,000 for the RNLI.

The event was attended by Adam's father, Les Bounds, and his teenage son Owen played for the Uplyme team.

Tributes were also paid to Adam at the popular Yard of Ale competition at the Cobb Arms in Lyme Regis during Lifeboat Week.

Long-standing champion and a friend of Adam's, Chris Higgs, completed his yard of ale wearing a sparkling Michael Jackson glove, which Adam was well known for.

Lifeboat crew member Elliott Herbert, who compered the event, also paid tribute to Adam saying everyone was missing their friend.
