'Patchwork from the Beginning (Workshop 3) - Making a Square'

This is the third in a series of workshops to provide an introduction to the basics of piecing, patchwork and quilting techniques. The first session covered a discussion of history, evolution, various styles and uses of quilted items and the second covered how to cut and stitch pieces. Don't worry if you missed them however, as it will not prevent you from joining us for this session.

In this workshop you will learn how to piece together a square and the next steps in the quilting process. More advanced techniques will also be demonstrated.

The aim of these workshops is to assist you in progressing your skills and techniques so that you are able to produce a quilted item of your own.

In addition, Axminster Heritage Centre are offering participants the opportunity to work alongside them on the production of an Axminster quilt to be hung in the museum.

Tickets cost £7.50 and are available from Axminster Heritage Centre.
