Axminster Town's buoyant youth section is looking for more coaches and is hoping to encourage more parents to step forward and help.

Mark Burrough currently coaches the youth section's under 6s, under 7s and under 8s with the under 8s entered in the Exeter and District Youth League.

Next year the club is hoping to get a coach for each of the under 7s, 8s and 9s teams so they can also be entered in the Exeter and District Youth League.

Mark will continue to take care of the under 6s whilst also coaching his own age group - currently under 11s in which his son Giles plays.

Mark coaches the under 6s, 7s, and 8s on a Sunday morning at Tiger Way from 9:30am until 10am and new players are welcomed. They should contact Mark on 07816769154 or email him at [email protected]

The club is also appealing to students or current younger adult players to assist with coaching.

All fees and coaching qualifications will be paid for by the club.

Under 12s lose to Trojans

Ilchester Trojans 3,

Axminster Under 12s 0

The first game back for the Tigers Under12s was against top of the league Trojans who played some good football and deserved to win, pushing the Axminster youngsters down to third place in the table.

Issac Poole picked up the man-of-the-match for his hard work up and down the pitch.

The Tigers will look to bounce back at home this Sunday (April 11th) at home to the Spitfires (kick-off 1030m).
