Trinity House in Axminster where all shop units have been let by Axminster Property

Following the opening of their first shop, the company behind the development of Axminster's prime trading site has started work on the main body of the former department store, Trinity House.

Axminster Property's managing director Ian Styles recently officially opened the ladies' fashion shop Lou La Belle, which is being run by Louise Wall who previously traded as Labels For Less in Victoria Place for 14 years.

A document outlining development proposals for the Greater Exeter area, including East Devon and specifically Axminster, has been published this week.

The Greater Exeter Strategic Plan (GESP) includes draft planning policies and large scale development options across four council areas - East Devon, Exeter, Mid Devon and Teignbridge - for the next twenty years up to 2040.

Police were called to Musbury, near Axminster, on Monday evening following reports that a group of teenagers were shouting and screaming.

Several residents have reported on social media that a group of youths were also entering gardens and attempting to enter sheds in the area, but police have not confirmed this.
