My early years' memories were characterised by the streets of my town, whilst walking to school, shopping with my mother, going to Sunday School or the cricket field. We walked everywhere, as my father was in the RAF in Weston-super-Mare, he had the car – no two-car families in the 1950s; very few ladies drove in those days!

I propose to take a walk around the town and look at the streets and businesses that I remember. Please let me know if my memory plays tricks on me!

Easing of social distancing measures in Tesco has split opinion among Axminster residents.

Supermarkets across the country introduced safety measures as coronavirus broke out in the UK. But as the government eases lockdown measures, Tesco has scrapped one-way systems and will now be letting more customers in stores, although they will be encouraged to remain two metres apart.

East Devon District Council will be re-opening 12 play areas from Monday, July 13th following the relaxation of restrictions around the coronavirus lockdown.

The district council manages 71 play areas and eight outdoor gyms which were all closed in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
