Tickets go on sale for Axminster Musical Theatre's production of Evita


Axminster Musical Theatre are well underway with rehearsals for their forthcoming production 'Evita' which goes live at the Guildhall on Tuesday, November 16.
Under the auspices of a talented creative team in Kelly Apps (director), Joseph Binmore (musical director) and Jodie Glover (choreographer), audiences are in for a real treat to see a brilliant cast perform 'Evita', with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice.
The story concentrates on the life of Argentine political leader Eva Perón. It charts the young and ambitious Eva Peron's meteoric rise to sainthood.
Set in Argentina between 1934-1952, the Tony Award-winning musical follows Eva Duarte on her journey from poor illegitimate child to ambitious actress to, as wife of military leader-turned-president Juan Peron, the most powerful woman in Latin America, before her death from cancer at age 33.
'Don't Cry For Me Argentina' is one of the most memorable songs from any musical.
Silvey Webber will be taking the role of Evita with Paul Matterface as Che and Mike Hamilton as Juan Peron.
Tickets to see 'Evita' can now be purchased at The Community Waffle Shop in Trinity Square Axminster, open Tuesday to Saturday from 9am to 9pm by cash or cheque, or online at axmt.co.uk (a booking fee applies).
The production takes place at Axminster Guildhall between November 16 and 20 with performances starting nightly at 7.30pm.
