Latest figures show 74 crimes in Axminster area in March

Latest police figures have reported that there were 74 recorded crimes in the Axminster area in March.

These figures compare to 39 crimes the previous month and 70 during the same month the previous year.

From the 74 recorded incidents in March 2021, 41 took place in Axminster Town and 33 in Axminster Rural, which also covers Uplyme, Kilmington, Hawkchurch, Dalwood, Stockland, Chardstock and surrounding areas.

In Axminster Town, crimes included 22 incidents of violence or sexual offences, five of anti-social behaviour, four cases of shoplifting and 10 listed as 'other crime'.

In Axminster Rural, crimes included 12 incidents of violence or sexual offences, 11 of anti-social behaviour, three public order offences and seven listed as 'other crime'.

Crime figures for April 2021 have not yet been released.
