Axminster junior parkrun to be named after Stop Line Way path

Axminster is set to join more than 200 towns across the UK to host a junior parkrun.
Permission in principle has been granted for a free, weekly, times 2k run along the public footpath which connects Axminster with Weycroft.
This will be for children aged 3 to 14 years old as part of the international parkrun movement, and will take place every Sunday at 9am.
Organisers do not yet have a start date as they are still fundraising towards start-up costs but they hope the first parkrun will be held in spring.
The parkrun will be named the Stop Line Way, after the Sustrans public walking and cycling route which, when complete, will run all the way from Bristol to Seaton, following the line of the World War II Taunton Stop Line, built in 1940 as a defence against invasion.
Organisers felt this name links the run to local history and heritage, as well as recognising the value of the Stop Line Way to local people.
