Axminster crew called to deliberate car fire

Axminster fire crew were called to a car fire near Coaxdon Hall, Smallridge, in the early hours of the morning.

The crew were called at 1.19am and one fire appliance was mobilised to a report of a vehicle on fire in a layby near Coaxdon Hall.

On arrival fire crews reported the vehicle was well alight and set to work using two breathing apparatus wearers and two hosereel jets to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire was believed to be deliberate and was left in the hands of the police.
