Axminster Town are out of the Walter Parsons Cup, beaten 3-2 in a close affair at home to Liskeard.

The Cornish side - lying in fourth place in the South West Peninsular Premier West division - looked the better side in the first half with Axminster conceding two soft goals.

After an extended festive break, Beer Albion are back in Joma Devon and Exeter League action on Saturday. 

In the Premier Division, the Fishermen's 1st team travel to Dawlish United 1sts and will be hoping to complete the double over their opponents after winning the corresponding fixture 5-2 at home earlier in the season.

With both the 1st and 2nd team games being cancelled last Saturday it gave the opportunity for the off the pitch fundraising team and in particular Rachael Burrough to provide the headlines with a Christmas Fair on Sunday. This was well organised and ran by Rachael with help on the day by a number of committee members and proved a success by raising over £2200.00 for the club funds. Our thanks goes to all the businesses and individuals who donated a number of high quality Christmas hampers and prizes for the Christmas raffle.

DEVON and Exeter Division Six leaders Okehampton came to Venlake on Saturday looking to hold onto their sizeable advantage at the top.  However, the Uplyme team were set on proving last week's disappointing defeat to Exeter Uni was a blip.

Without influential player Cody Bowditch and skipper Wes Holmes, it seemed a tough task, but the team set about their usual brand of quick football with gusto.
