A packed programme of events is lined up in Axminster as we celebrate the third day of the Queen's Jubilee Platinum weekend.

We'll be bringing you daily updates with a list of what's on in Axminster every morning over the four-day Bank Holiday weekend, and look out for our round-up of the day's events in the evenings.

Today's programme will start with a teddy bear's picnic for children at the Pippins Community Centre, from 11.30am to 2pm. Places for this event are limited so contact Pippins to find if there is space still available.

You can enjoy afternoon tea at The Castle Inn from 12.30pm and a Jubilee High Tea at Axminster Conservative Club from 3pm, where guests are asked to dress as if the Queen were in attendance.

A full programme of entertainment is planned at Axminster Guildhall this afternoon, starting with 'Bring Me Sunshine' songs from the West End at 2pm. This will be followed by an interval meal provided by local charity Nourish at 3.15pm and 'The Greatest Shows on Earth' - music from the stage and screen from 5pm.

These events are free but the Nourish meal should be booked by calling 0800 019 2428.

In the evening, The Axminster Inn will be hosting its 'Ax-Enders' garden party with a barbecue and disco from 6pm, and a 'Stars In Their Eyes' style Royal Variety Show will be held at The Castle Inn from 7.30pm.

The Nub News team will be attending as many Platinum Jubilee events as possible over the four-day weekend, but unfortunately we cannot get to everything. Please send your jubilee photos to [email protected] for inclusion in our jubilee coverage!
