A lot of excitement and activity at Axe Cliff Golf Club last week starting with Monday's coffee morning with over 80 ladies playing the course and past captains, Rob Grove and Gilbert Cox, doing a wonderful job in organising their parking.

In-form batsmen Tyler Wellman blasted 112 off 53 balls in Uplyme Muffin Men's 185-run victory over Sidbury in week three of the fledgling East Devon Bash T20 competition.

THE first away meeting of their Centenary year saw a team from Lyme Regis Sailing Club at Castle Cove on Sunday, in a competition between the hosts, Sutton Bingham SC and Lyme. In this more limited replacement for the former Lyme Bay Challenge, the three clubs each host a leg.

The top three results from each club team count in the overall results.

It was a busy week for Axe Cliff Ladies with a few competing in the Devon County Seniors Championship at Okehampton .

Putting her professional training to good use was Stella Thompson, who came an excellent second, with most of the top ten coming from the home club - well done Stella.

THE 63rd open tournament is under way at Lyme Regis Bowling Club, but with greatly reduced numbers of competitors.
