Axminster Under 14s 1,
Okehampton Under 14s 1 Okehampton started the first half the brighter winning the tackles and dictating play, their physical superiority intimidating the Tigers. It wasn't long before Okehampton took the lead, a well taken header from a corner, again the taller stronger player making the difference. With the Tigers well off the pace it took an excellent strike from Tiger forward Owen Dibling to score the equaliser, hit hard and low into the bottom right corner the keeper had no chance. The Tigers held on to finish the half out and at half time the coaches had a few choice words. More effort and desire was needed. The Tigers set about the second half with more purpose and immediately this started to upset the opposition's play. The visitors weren't getting it all their way and reverted to back chat the referee. The Tigers were creating more chances but failing to convert any and the defence having to keep on their toes working hard together to snuff out the Oke forwards with Oli Wren and Dan Barton making several last-ditch tackles between them. Stand-out performances today from keeper Dylan White and his back four and Bailey Galloway for his efforts. Man-of-the-match went to Owen Dibling for his tireless work up front on his own. The Under 14s next match is away to Heavitree On Saturday, October 31st. Colyton Under 12s 0Axminster Town Under 12s 4
The previous two meetings against Colyton have both resulted in a draw, so Axminster Under 12s knew they had a tough game on our hands.
Thankfully, the Tigers came out flying, with many chances going narrowly wide or just not getting through a very crowded penalty area.
But then a shot from Alex Graves on the edge of the area was fumbled by the Colyton goalkeeper in o his own net breaking the dead lock.
After this Colyton had their only notable chance of the game which was well dealt with by keeper George Manning.
The rest of the game was fairly straightforward for Tigers. After a lot of battling through a very tight Colyton defence, Tigers then found the width of the pitch and some great passing to help them score another three, the scorers being the dynamic duo of Theo Dibling and Flynn Hartford, who were both a menace to the Colyton defence and unfortunate not to score more goals.
All the team played exceptionally well but a fantastic stand-out performance came from Ollie Gabb.
