Millwey Rise 2nd X1 travelled to Hemyock for a match that their respective positions in the Devon and Exeter Division Eight promised to be a great game.

Straight from the off Millwey looked threatening but, the same story as in previous matches this season, they just couldn't take their chances. With opportunities coming thick and fast throughout the half it still took 40 minutes before Rise could break the deadlock and it was 17 year-old Corban Wilson who scored his first ever goal for the seniors. The ball landed at his feet inside the area after Ben Roslings initial shot was blocked. He then coolly controlled it and fired into the top corner of the Hemyock net and 'Millwey went into the break 0-1 to the good but felt they should have been much further ahead.

The second period started and went pretty much the same as the first with Millwey dominating and Hemyock offering little threat to their goal. Half way through the half Millwey got their second goal which was well worked and resulted in young Wilson netting his second in an afternoon he won't forget in a long time. Soon after captain Ashley Hall brilliantly fired home for Rise's third and final goal. In the last ten minutes Hemyock came more into the game without really troubling Millwey keeper Kierran Bearpark who, with this 0-3 win, has kept three clean sheets in four matches.

Millwey management were ecstatic with the all-round performance and agreed there were a number of key players who could have taken the man-of-the match but decided to round off Corban Wilson's unforgettable day with that accolade.
