UPLYME 1sts continued their good form with some excellent passing football in their 5-0 home victory over Chard Rangers in Perry Street Division Two.
Tricky conditions failed to affect their free-flowing game as Finn Mclean unleashed a fantastic rising drive from the edge of the box to make it 1 - 0.
Within minutes three more goals were scored before hal-ftime as Uplyme enjoyed their possession - a header from Oscar Sladen followed by a brace from Niall Fifer.
With heavy rain falling in the second half, The Swallows persevered and Freddie Andrews cut inside and finished well to make it 5-0.
The soaked crowd were awarded with a quality performance from every player. Nate Gillan, 17. on the left drew plenty of praise from the observers, as did the great vision from Alex Jones, proving he's as adept at spraying a pass as he is banging in the goals.
Finn Mclean has already proved a fantastic signing, but the management felt Wes Holmes stood out, this week; his one-touch passes, movement and tempo inspired those around him all game.
This victory saw Uplyme move into second place, trailing leaders Forton Rangers reserves on goal average. Tomorrow (Saturday) are away to third-place Netherbury. Uplyme Reserves will be looking for the first victory of the season in Perry Street Division Three away to Chard Rangers Reserves who have taken one point from their first three games.
