Uplyme played a very experienced Combe A side, tonight in the quarter finals of the Reg Eglon Cup and ran out comfortable 5 - 1 winners.

Two goals from Oscar Sladen, a cool penalty from Connor Tate and one apiece for Alex Jones and Brad Bowditch saw Uplyme through to a challenging semi-final against Perry Street.

It could have been a handful more without some excellent saves and some wayward finishing.

Uplyme's pace and shape worked well and Sladen and Tate stood out in a solid performance.

Next Wednesday is a big day for the Swallows as it is semi-final day. Also, Uplyme 1sts start their Devon and Exeter Division Four adventure against neighbours Colyton 2nds on the same evening.

Joint manager Pete Blandamer said: "We are expecting a big challenge with numerous players away at festivals, but we'll try and play our usual style."
