Confidence is riding high at Tiger Way after Axminster Town made it three wins from three games with a 3-0 away victory over Bovey Tracey.

Their impressive start to the new season sees them leading the South West Peninsular Premier East division on goal difference, ahead of Okehampton Argyle and Ivybridge Town, all on nine points. And after their opening two victories over Bovey and Cullompton, scoring seven goals, they were elected Team of The Week.

Their goals can from Josh Wadham, Craig Veal and Lewis Waldy, who won the man-of-the-match award for a superb goal win he caught the Bovey keeper off his line, scoring from inside Tigers' half.

Delighted with another win, manager Dan Prettejohn said after the game: "Three points in tough conditions - we'll play better and lose - but a clean sheet in these conditions and three points leaves a happy gaffer!"

This coming Saturday Axminster are at home to Newton Abbot Spurs (kick-off 3 pm). The cub are making it a "youth fay" with free entry to the grounds for all their youth section players, including the Wildcats participants.
