Axminster Town are looking for better performance at Elmore on Saturday after dropping to seventh place in the league

Axminster Town go to Elmore tomorrow determined to bounce back after a 4-0 defeat at Brixham on Saturday which saw them drop several places in the South West Peninsular Premier East division.

The Tigers dew 1-1 at home to Elmore in August but will be going all out to make up for Saturday's sloppy performance.

Elmore are second from bottom in the table with only one win out of nine so on paper it's a fixture which the Tigers will be expected to win. But as manager Dan Prettejohn well knows, league position counts for little at this level.

Prettejohn told Nub News Sport: "We had a sloppy warm-up after arriving late because of traffic and this meant the three goals conceded after just 12 minutes made it a hill too high.

"Strong words were spoken as everyone was five-yards off the pace that we needed to be. Credit to Brixham as they were ruthless, but we shouldn't be out of any game that early and need a reaction on Wednesday (away to Elmore)"

On Saturday Axminster Town travel to Barnstaple in the first round of the FA Vase and there next home league game in against leaders Ivybridge on Saturday, October 1.
