Back in September 2019, Kilmington athlete Luke Reed took part in the Brighton Triathlon which was also a qualification race for the European Standard distance race in 2020.

Luke managed second in his age group, which secured a qualification slot in the 40-44 age group.

Due to COVID issues the race in 2020 was postponed and is now due to take place in Valencia Spain on Sunday, September 26.

The race comprises of a 1,500m swim, a 40km bike ride and 10km run.

This will be Luke's second time representing Great Britain which, he says, makes the 10 hours training per week worthwhile.

Luke is the son of Dave and Maureen Reed, of Lyme Regis, and is a former Lyme Regis Football player and Uplyme and Lyme Regis cricketer.
