THIS has certainly been a season to remember for Uplyme and Lyme Regis Cricket Club and after their final league match on Saturday they are hoping to have something to really celebrate.
A big crowd is expected at the King George V playing field in the afternoon when Uplyme meeting Plymouth Civil Service in one of the Devon Cricket Mini-Leagues finals having gone unbeaten in the six matches that got them to the play-offs.
With brilliant batting displays during the league and play-off matches, the highlight of which was three consecutives centuries by Tyler Wellman, Uplyme go into the final with loads of confidence.
But whatever the result, win or lose, there will be a great celebration in a marquee that they are erecting to stage their end-of-season presentation evening - their most successful season for many years.
Because of covid regulations the evening is private function for members and their guests with full social distancing regulations being observed. Tickets are £10 and track and trace details will be taken on the door.
The dress code is smart casual and all members are being asked to bring a prize for the raffle.
The itinerary for the day will be as follows:
- 45 pm – Team photo
1 pm – Bar opens
1 pm – Cricket starts
- 30 pm – Cricket finishes
- 15 Food is served
- 45 pm – Brimmers famous cocktail bar opens
- 45 pm – heads and Tails
9 pm – Award ceremony
- 45 pm – Raffle is announced
10 pm - Music
