A Division

Seaton won their first match of the new cricket season with a four-wicket victory at home to Barton which leaves them in a mid-table position.

Seaton won the toss and put Barton into bat, bowling them out for 109 with just five balls shy of 40 overs.

Robbie Prior topped the batting figures, finishing with 3 for for 25 off 8 overs, with Wes Holmes taking 2 for 17 off five.

In reply, Seaton didn't find runs easy to come by but they were led to victory by Josh Cann (47), Joel Seaward (17) and Tristan Wakeley (14) to gain 19 useful points.

Seaton 1st X1 19 points, Barton CC 5 points.

B Division

KILMINGTON lead the B Division after a closely-fought enounter home to Bideford, Littleham and Westward Ho.

The East Devon villagers won the toss and elected to field. The visitors lost two quick wickets but a fine knock of 88 from James Ford steadied the ship before being caught by Billy Reed off Oliver Reed.

Olli Reed finished with figures of 4 for 32 off eight overs as Bideford were bowled out for 162-9.

Matthew Pile led with charge with a half-century and Matt Rockett (43) and 34 from Billy Reed helped Kilmington their winning score of 163 for 7.

Kilmington now have a slender one-point lead over Chudleigh at the top of the table.

Kilmington 1st X1 19 points, Bideford 7 points.

D Division East

UPLYME and Lyme Regis stormed to the top of the table East with another brilliant performance, beating Barnstaple and Pilton by ten wickets at the King George V playing field.

Uplyme have opened up a 12-point lead at the top of the table and have established themselves as early favourites for the title.

Uplyme started the season with a 20-point victory against the Sidmouth 3rd X1, followed by two abandoned games due to the rain where they added 12 points.

The home game against the North Devon side saw Uplyme's total point-tally rise to 52, opening up a comfortable lead over second placed Clyst Valley 1st X1.

Having lost the toss, Barnstaple and Pilton were put into bat and the visitors struggled against Uplyme's lively six-man attack.

The bowling honours were shared by Steve Batey with figures of 4 for 20 off nine overs and Andrew Harrison (3 for 6 off three overs) with Barnstaple being dismissed for 120 runs in the allotted 35 overs.

Openers Steve and Mark Batey took just 16 overs to knock off the required runs with Steve hitting 91 not out, including nine fours and six sixes, whilst Mark carried his bat for 23 runs to give the villagers a 20-pointer.

Uplyme and Lyme Regis 20 points, Barnstaple and Pilton 3 points.

Away to Alphington and Countess Wear, Chardstock were skittled out for just 37 runs with none of their batsmen reaching double figures.

Alphington won the toss and put Chardstock into bat and it took 28 overs to bowl them out with eight runs being the highest score from Sam Reynolds.

The home team took just 18 overs to reach there winning totak for the loss of just one wicket.

Alphington and Countess Wear 19 points, Chardstock 0 points.

E Division East

Axminster Town won the toss and elected to field at home to Thorverton and found themselves chasing 170 runs at cost of only four wickets.

Thorverton opening batsmen Andrew Daldorph did all the damage, carrying his bat for 88 without hitting a boundary.

In reply Axminster were all out for 97 in 40 overs with Paul Miller top scoring on 40.

Axminster Town 1st X1 4 points, Thorverton 19 points.

F Division East{.H2]

Seaton 2nd X1 were dismissed for just 78 runs in 31 overs away to North Devon.

The home side won the toss and put Seaton into bat but they struggled from the start with Oliver Aplin (14), Toby Tucker (15) and Tim Doulton (11) reaching double figures.

North Devon knocked off the required runs, losing four wickets in the process, two of which were taken by Thomas Brown.

North Devon 19 points. Seaton 2nd X1 3 points.

[H2]G Division East

The game between Topsham St James 2nd X1 and Kilmington 2nd X1 was cancelled with both receiving six points

H Division East

Also cancelled was the game between Exwick 2nd X1 and Axminster Town 2nd X1, six points going to each side.
