Axminster Town consolidated their mid-table position with a four-wicket home victory over high-flying Alphington and Countess Wear 2nd X1.
The Carpetmen won the toss and put the visitors into bat. Opener Darren Rice went for a duck and wickets fell at regular intervals with Alphington being dismissed for 160 in 37 overs.
Bowlers who did the damage for Axminster were Alex Wraight, whose eight overs claimed four wickets at the expense of only seven runs, and Sam Beviss who finished with figures of 3-37.
In response, opener Owen Enticott carried his bat for 62 with good contribution also coming from Paul Miller (47).

Axminster Town 2nds conceded their away game at second placed Woodbury and Newton St Cyres and were deducted ten points.
