Kerbside recycling rates across Devon increased during lockdown, according to the latest figures released by Recycle Devon.

Ahead of the 16th Annual Recycle Week, to be held from September 21 to September 27, the figures show a 12 per cent increase between April and June 2020.

Former Axminster schoolgirl Elena Brake has launched an online fundraising campaign to help her get back on her feet after being diagnosed with a debilitating genetic disorder.

Plans have now been submitted for restoration work to Axminster's war memorial, with the hope the project will be complete in time for Remembrance Day.

Axminster Town Council has submitted a planning application to East Devon District Council, requesting permission to clean, re-cut damaged letters, reporting and patch the grade II listed war memorial in the Minster Green.
