COVID-19: 11 new cases in East Devon

New figures from the Office of National Statistics (ONS) have confirmed 11 new cases of the coronavirus in East Devon.

The total number of new coronavirus cases confirmed in the last seven days has more than doubled across Devon and Cornwall – but some areas have seen a fall.

Axminster estate agents Vicary & Co held a fundraiser on the Minster Green yesterday (Thursday) in aid of two cancer charities.

Staff from Vicary & Co teamed up with the popular Community Waffle House to host a takeaway coffee morning and cake stall in aid of Axminster & Lyme Cancer Support and Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Community Waffle House in Axminster has launched a £20,000 online fundraising campaign to help with its upcoming move to Trinity House.

The Waffle House opened in West Street last April as a non-profit making community interest company. It has proved a huge success with every penny made going to help the needy of Axminster, especially the isolated and lonely.

More details have been released today on the proposed regeneration of the Axminster Carpets industrial site, including a new Aldi supermarket, as a public consultation is launched.

Following the announcement that supermarket chain Aldi could be coming to the town, a new Axminster Regeneration website has gone live today, detailing ACL Properties' plans to develop surplus land on the eastern part of the Axminster Carpets estate, off Musbury Road.
