Plastic Free Axminster is delighted to welcome local business Xylem Water Solutions as a Community Ally of the group.
Community Allies of the group pledge to cut down on their plastic waste and are helping Axminster towards achieving Plastic Free Community status.
Emma Barnes, internal communications manager explained at Axminster-based Xylem, explained: "We are pleased to pledge to support Plastic Free Axminster with their work in the community.
"Through our Xylem Watermark programme colleagues are given time during their working hours to volunteer in their local communities.
"We have joined the group on several litter picks and are glad to present litter pickers to help with this work.
"At Xylem Sustainability is important to us and we commit to a greener carbon footprint at our sites.
"In our Axminster facility, we replaced plastic cups with glasses at water stations, restricted single-use coffee cups from the tea/coffee areas, and installed recycling points around the building and we encourage our colleagues to continually identify ways we can be more environmentally friendly"
If there are any community groups, youth groups, businesses, schools or nurseries who would like to become allied with Plastic Free Axminster and cut down on their plastic waste, you can get in touch on [email protected] and make arrangements to have a chat regarding what is involved.
