DESPITE the continuing COVID-9 restrictions, Axminster FC's hard working committee are continuing to raise much needed funds for the area's premier football club.

Like all clubs in the region, finances have been hit by the closure of clubhouses on match days but the Tigers have still managed to organise events with our flirting the restrictions.

The club are holding regular Saturday morning breakfasts with social distancing being strictly implemented and Tigers' supporters have just raised £1,000 by raffling off six festive hampers.

The tickets were drawn by the chairman of Cullompton FC, Brian Horner, at half-time in yesterday's game at Tiger Way (see report on Nub News sports portal).

The winners were Nicola Weller (2) , Tammy Newcombe, Richard Hurford, Mike Sanky and Marcus goodies.

The hampers were donated by Tesco Axminster, the Burrough family and various donated items from supporters, including club stalwart Roy McClennan.

Organiser Rachel Burrough thanked all those who donated goods for the hampers and those who bought tickets.
