It was a very hot evening on Tuesday of last week but a real pleasure for the congregation at St Mary's Parish Church in Axminster to share a wonderful service where Rt Rev'd Jackie Searle, Bishop of Crediton, led worship and the Licensing to the eight churches of the Axe Valley Mission Community of their new Team Vicar, the Rev'd Nicky Davies, and two Associate Priests, the Rev'd Cate Edmonds and the the Rev'd Shuna George.

They will each serve across the churches in their roles within the Ministry Team.

Due to the present Covid regulations only 60 people were able to attend the service, but it was the first service from the Minster to be live streamed to Facebook where many were able to share in the fellowship remotely.

The recorded service can be viewed on the AVMC website www.axevmc.com.

  • The parishes served by the Mission are Axminster, All Saints, Axmouth, Chardstock, Combpyne-Rousdon, Holy Cross, Membury and Uplyme.
