Headteacher congratulates Axminster students on GCSE results

By Francesca Evans 19th Aug 2021

Thea headteacher of Axe Valley Academy in Axminster has congratulated GCSE students who collected results this week following a challenging year.

The students had their educations severely impacted by the coronavirus pandemic this year and were not able to sit their final exams.

However, headteacher Laura Jenkins said they had shown hard work and dedication in their studies.

She commented: "I am delighted to be able to congratulate of all of our incredible students receiving their examination results today.

"The staff at Axe Valley could not be prouder of the hard work and dedication they have shown to their studies across their time here, but in particular over the last 18 months.

"Once again we have seen a fantastic attitude from a really incredible cohort and as such we are able to celebrate hard earned results with them.

"In particular I'd like to take the opportunity to thank all staff, parents and carers for their exceptional support and guidance which has helped to shape this year group who will again leave a legacy of hard work, determination and kindness."
