AXE Valley Wildlife Park, one of the most popular attractions in the Axminster area, especially for children, is likely to be closed due to coronavirus for another month and is running out of food for its animals.
The owners are appealing to the public to provide them with foodstuffs for the many animals at the park.
In an appeal on the Axminster Notice Board Facebook page they said they were running very low on fresh fruit and vegetables for the animals.
"With another month of closure we still need your help," they said.
"If anyone works or has connections with local supermarkets who could help us, we would be very grateful.
"We need apples, bananas, pears, grapes, melon, tomatoes as well as all root vegetables, cabbage onions, beetroot, lettuce, celery, mushrooms and cucumbers.
The wildlife park, situated on the road to Kilmington just outside Axminster, will collect donations of food if necessary and there is a place at the park where food can be left.
There is also a collection point at the nearby Pets At Home store in Axminster.
The appeal concluded: "Together we can make a difference and support our local business, even if we feel one bit of veg won't make a difference, it really, really does."
The park can be contacted on 01297 34472
