Armed Forces Day will be marked with a programme of events centered around Axminster railway station on Saturday, June 24.

Events will start with a service of worship outside the station from 2pm, paying tribute to all those who serve in our Armed Forces and all those lost in conflict.

Other events throughout the afternoon will include a talk on The Taunton Stop Line Way by Andrew Powell Thomas, author of military history, local heritage books and children's fiction, alongside a military history and memorabilia display and live music from The Plum Jam Band and others.

There will also be a number of stalls, including the Royal British Legion, Army Cadets & Air Cadets.

The Ale Way micro-pub will be serving up a special extended selection of beers and ciders, and The Station Kitchen will be running a barbecue.

The day will form part of Axminster's Cherry Fayre programme.
