Axminster's weekly street market will remain open throughout the four weeks of lockdown.

The market is open today with not far off 100 per cent of the usual stallholders, although footfall was a little down on normal.

Lord of The Manor Jim Rowe, who runs the market, told Nub News he was delighted with the turn out of so many stallholders who meet the criteria of being able to continue to trade.

He said: "The sun is shining and people are delighted that the market is still operating. We intend to keep going throughout this lockdown observing all the cover-19 regulations."
