Axminster New Youth Club is open again

Axminster New Youth Club, formed in 2014, opened again this week conforming strictly to the new covid-19 restrictions.

The club which meets at the Pippins Community Centre on Tuesdays is open to youngsters between the ages of 11 and 16 years.

On Tuesday this week the club, run entirely by volunteers, was open to years seven and eigtht and next Tuesday they will be opening their doors for the nine and ten year-olds, operating alongside the school bubbles.

Some changes have had to be introduced due to the current coronavirus situation and at the moment they can cope with up to 15 children at one time. Should more wish to attend a booking service may have to be introduced.

Activities available at the club include cooking, arts and crafts, basketball, karaoke, table football, wifi, pool, football, veggie garden and wii and xbox games.

The club relies on donations and among those who have given assistance or financial support include: Axminster Town Council, Axminster Tools & Machinery, Axminster Care Service, Bradfords Building Supplies, Mole Avon, Axminster Cooperative Food Store, Wesco, Xzlem,Comlete Meats, RGB Building Supplies Exeter and Simon Palmer Decorating.
