Latest figures show 50 crimes reported in Axminster in May

Latest police figures have reported that there were 50 recorded crimes in the Axminster area in May.

These figures compare to 45 crimes the previous month and are a drop from the 72 reported during the same month the previous year.

From the 50 recorded incidents in May 2021, 29 took place in Axminster Town and 21 in Axminster Rural, which also covers Uplyme, Kilmington, Hawkchurch, Dalwood, Stockland, Chardstock and surrounding areas.

In Axminster Town, crimes included 14 incidents of violence and sexual offences, six of anti-social behaviour, two drug-related incidents and seven listed as 'other crime'.

In Axminster Rural, crimes included six vehicle crimes, six incidents of violence and sexual offences, two of anti-social behaviour and seven listed as 'other crimes'.

Crime figures for June 2021 have not yet been released.
