Anne Swithinbank, writer, broadcaster and a panellist on Radio 4's 'Gardeners' Question Time', will be talking on dye plants and their use in dyeing yarn. This talk is part of the associated activities linked to Axminster Heritage Centre's temporary exhibition 'Spinning a yarn; The Story of Axminster and Sheep'.
If the weather is suitable, following the talk there will be a tour of Axminster Heritage Centre's small dye garden which illustrates plants used by Thomas Whitty to colour his yarn used in his world-famous Georgian Axminster Carpets.
