After last season being cut short and this season featuring a delayed start due to COVID-19, Seaton Ladies and their opponents Bradninch were raring to start with team numbers of 16 and 15.

Bradnitch kicked-off and both teams got stuck into the game with the match starting off evenly. Seaton had a shot on goal which hit the bar and Bradnitch managed to clear it off their goal line.

Nub News cricket awards

THREE consecutive centuries by Uplyme & Lyme Regis all-rounder Tyler Wellman, a feat unknown in local recreational cricketing circles, clinched the Nub News Sport top ten batting award.

Tyler topped the top ten batting list with a 353 runs scored during the Devon mini-league games and wins £125 for his club and a trophy to mark his achievement.

Scott wins club championship at Lyme

ROUND two of the Lyme Regis Golf Club Championship (Williams Bowl) was played in true summer weather.

With three players all in pole position after round 1 on 73 points, for James Newcombe and brothers Ian and Steven Mudford there was all to play for.

Seaton Ladies had their last pre-season friendly before the league games start. After last week's results ending in a draw, the team was keen to get a win under their belts before the season starts today (Sunday, September 20th).

Unfortunately HT Dons turned up with only eight players so after playing 15 minutes of the first half Seaton dropped down to ten and 'loaned' two players to level the playing field. Several goals were scored by Lara, Becky, Meg, Lucy and Georgie.
