AN early injury to stand-in 'keeper Matt White disrupted Lyme Rovers' plans on a frustrating afternoon against Misterton.

With less than to minutes played, White, standing in as all three first choice keepers are injured, bravely blocked at the feet of the on-rushing Misterton forward before their knees collided.

A FOUR-YEAR development project at the Davey Fort, the home of Lyme Regis Football Club, is drawing to close and should be completed before the Seasiders start their home fixtures.

Phase one of the project was in construction of a new £60,000 kitchen followed by the erection of a 63-seater stand on the southern side of the pitch.

Axminster Town's poor start to the season continued at Tiger Way last evening when they were beaten 3-1 by Elmore.

Manager Josh Stunnell was looking for a better performance after losing 2-1 in their opening South West Peninsular Premier East game against Dartmouth but his young side were not up to the task, although it's early days yet.

Lyme Regis first team's pre-season friendly at old Perry Street League rivals Merriott on Tuesday night wasn't one for the purests.

The sun was very low and the grass very long. Merriott were a classic Perry Street side, aggressive and competing for everything.

After a tough game on Sunday Seaton Town Ladies were raring to go for a midweek friendly against Ilminster Reserves.

Seaton fielded a full squad of 16 giving them plenty of options.

AFTER a lack-lustre performance in their opening game of the season on Saturday, narrowly losing 2-1, Axminster Town will be looking for a better performance against Elmore at Tiger Way this evening (kick-off 7.30 pm).

After an excellent pre-season programme Tigers' manager Josh Stunnell was disappointed with his side's first South West Peninsular Premier East match against Dartmouth.

Axminster Ladies travelled up to Bideford on Sunday to experience playing against a team in the Premier Division of the South West Regional Women's Football League, a level of football approximately four leagues higher.

Despite a result (9-0) that may not have looked like something to be proud of against a team playing at a level of this magnitude. However, it was a very good result for Ax Ladies with the team and every player working hard until the final whistle and they learnt a great deal.

UPLYME completed their pre-season with a resounding 8 – 1 win over Colyton 2nds.

Uplyme were relaxed from the start and broke the deadlock after 20 minutes through Dan Huggins after a lovely James Souter Phillips' flick.

LYME Rovers put in a convincing and fairly untroubled performance in a pre-season friendly against Millwey Rise Reserves.

Rovers started on the front foot and scored after two minutes, with good work through the left channel by Cam Fowler and Robbie Prior's deflected shot finding the bottom corner.
