With few games being played over the New Year period, Axminster Town will be keen to regain their sixth place in the South West Peninsular Premier East division on Saturday.
Dan Prettejohn's squad travel to bottom of the table Elburton Villa, the ideal fixture to kick-tart their bid for a return to the top six in their first game since December 27 when they lost to Bridport 3-1.
With heavy rain and sharp frosts resulting in postponements throughout the division , the Tigers dropped to seventh position behind Bovey Tracey. Both sides have 32 points, but Bovey have a game in hand. Elburton sit firmly at the bottom with just three wins in 15 games.
Teignmouth AFC in eighth place are a big threat to Axe as they trail by two points but have two games in hand. Teignmouth, however, have a difficult away trip to second place Crediton United .
*Axminster's hard working volunteers will be staging an Easter Family Fun afternoon at Tiger Way on Sunday, April 2nd (1pm to 4pm). They are looking for stallholders who should contact Rachel Burrough at [email protected] to book a table.
Future events include a Quiz and Curry Night in the clubhouse on Friday, Feruay 17 in aid of youth pitch improvements.
