AFTER a lack-lustre performance in their opening game of the season on Saturday, narrowly losing 2-1, Axminster Town will be looking for a better performance against Elmore at Tiger Way this evening (kick-off 7.30 pm).

After an excellent pre-season programme Tigers' manager Josh Stunnell was disappointed with his side's first South West Peninsular Premier East match against Dartmouth.

Tonight's game will provide a stern test as Elmore were emphatic 4-0 winners on Saturday against Elburton Villa.

The Tigers' performance in their opening game so disappointed the Axminster management that they did not think any player was worthy of a man-of-the-match award.

But having been impressed with their pre-season form, the experienced Stunnell is confident his players can raise their game tonight, telling the Midweek Herald: "There is no need for us to panic. We have narrowly lost a game in which we underperformed and I am sure we will bounce." back."
