Following the disappointment of being beaten 4-2 by Dorset opponents Bridport, Axminster Town are back in action tomorrow (Thursday) when they meet former South West Peninsular opponents Ottery St Mary in the semi-final of the Morrison Bell Cup at Washbrook Meadow (kick-off 7 pm).

Despite that defeat against the Bees, Axminster. retained their fifth place in then Peninsular Premier East division but trail the fourth placed Ivybriddge Town by nine points with just one game in hand. So this is a fixture that the Tigers really have to win to beat last year's best ever placing of sixth.

On Saturday the Tigers are away to Newton Abbot Spurs, who are just two points behind them in sixth place, and then on Tuesday they bid for a place in the final of the Walter C Parsons Cup in a semi-final tie at Okehampton Argyle. Axminster supporters will be able to see their Under 16s side in action tonight (Wednesday) when the young Tigers are at home to Culm Sampford. United (kick-off 7.30pm).
