Axminster Town, following another impressive performance on Saturday, will be going all out to avenge an early season 2-0 defeat against local rivals Honiton Town when the two sides meet again tomorrow (Wednesday) at Tiger Way.

The Hippos won the bragging rights in the fixture at Honiton in August, but since then they have won only one other game and are sitting dangerously close to the relegation zone.

By contrast, Axminster are enjoying an excellent season in seventh position after six wins and four draws with games in hand over the two sides above them.

On Saturday the Tigers welcomed Cornish side St Dennis to Tiger Way in the Walter C Parsons League Cup and impressed the home crowd with another good performance, winning 4-1.

The in-form Jamie Price netted two first half goals with Jamie Girton and Sam Winslade getting on the scoresheet after the break.

Axminster Town Reserves travelled to Devon and Exeter Premier high-flyers Thorverton, losing 2-1, their fourth defeat of the season which leaves them in seventh position in the table.

This coming Saturday they are away to Okehampton who are three places below them in the league.
