Heavy rain during the week caused yesterday's Axminster Town home fixture against South West Peninsular Premier East high-flyers Brixham to be postponed.

This enabled the Tigers to strengthen their Reserve side for a robust 4-2 victory over Devon and Exeter Premier rivals Beer Albion. It was a typical local derby with both sides having a player sent off.

Despite the defeat, the Fisherman stay in third place in the Premier division but now have Kentisbeare hot on their tales with equal points.

Axminster Reserves moved into ninth place.

A number of other games also fell foul to the weather.
