Millwey Reserves hosted local rivals Farway at 'Harry's field' looking for back-to-back wins.

It took them only a minute to threaten the visitor's goal with Ben Rosling firing just wide. Millwey were relentless and remained on the attack and Rosling again had the ball in the Farway net only to see it ruled out by a hugely suspect offside decision.

Within minutes Rosling again had the ball in the net and this time Rise were in front. Goal hungry Rosling then grabbed himself a second which was quickly followed by two well worked goals for Jack Bennett to put Millwey 4-0 up. In the final minutes of the half Rosling bagged another goal to complete his hat-trick and a 5-0 lead for Rise going into the break.

Farway became more of a threat at the start of the second period but without the ability to produce an end result to their numerous attacks. Mid-way through the half Millwey were awarded their first of two penalties. Their usual penalty taker Bennet stepped aside and left it to defender Alex Osborne to coolly slot the ball past the visitor's keeper for his first ever Millwey goal to make it 6-0.

A little later a second penalty was awarded which Bennett stepped up and netted to complete his hat-trick and extend the lead to 7-0. Millwey kept turning the screw and it paid off when 16 year-old Josh Marlow wrong footed a defender and smashed home his first ever goal in men's football followed by Cameron Board rounding off the scoring with an accomplished finish.

Manager Terry Male said " I'm delighted with this emphatic result and the way that the team stuck to their task". Co-managers Male and James Morgan gave player of the match award to 16-year-old Josh Marlow who the pair see as a future star for Millwey Rise FC.
