Axminster Town Under 10s v West Hill Under 10s

Before kick-off the managers talked to the boys about intensity in a match, something they do in a training game but something that's been lacking in a league encounters.

With the pep talk in their minds, the team took the game to West Hill with a renewed vigour, some slick passing, playing wide and pressing well, creating lots of opportunities and coming off at the end of the match 8-1 victors with a hat-trick for Arthur Porter.

This was to a the warm-up to play the stronger West Hill team in match two.

Again the boys didn't disappoint once the game had settled with Axe creating many chances, playing down the wings, passing well with some great through balls which created some excellent goals.

However, West Hill came back at the young Tigers catching them on the break a few times with some great goalkeeping and saves by William and then by Charlie, leaving them 3-1 up with 10 minutes to play.

How things can change. A couple of quick goals by West Hill (one very debatable) and the score was 3-3.

In the last minute West Hill were awarded a penalty for a dubious trip in the box, Charlie just couldn't stop it going in.

Final score 4-3 to West Hill, a great match in good spirits and very well played by the Tigers.

Man-of-the-match went to Finlay Gabb for some great defending and overall awareness.
