Making the trip to play Tedburn St Mary 2nd team Millwey Rise Reserves appeared to be a very strong side which included a full 5five-sub contingent. All players wore black armbands and a minute's silence was held prior to the start of the game.

The early play saw the home side exerting a lot of pressure on the Rise defence. It was clear that Tedburn had taken the opportunity to bolster their ranks but it was Millwey who went into the lead when Ben Rosling calmly slotted the ball past the keeper.

Millwey were guilty of missing several chances to increase their lead before Tedburn struck back and quickly went two goals up and into the break three goals to the good.

Tedburn came out of the blocks very quickly in the second period and at the same time Rise sustained two injuries to key players. Although Millwey had further chances in front of goal, the final result was a 6-1 victory for the home side.

Manager Terry Male gave all the players 'match time' and made his player of the match young Flynn Smith, their new goalkeeper who showed great courage coming off his line.

He added: "We look forward to welcoming Tedburn to Cloakham Lawns this coming Saturday for the reverse fixture. I am in no doubt we will see a very different side to the one we played against today."
