LYME Rovers put in a convincing and fairly untroubled performance in a pre-season friendly against Millwey Rise Reserves.
Rovers started on the front foot and scored after two minutes, with good work through the left channel by Cam Fowler and Robbie Prior's deflected shot finding the bottom corner.
The Lyme third X1 continued causing plenty of problems for the Millwey defence and Pete Peacock went close several times before Josh Daines coolly slotted into the bottom corner from 20 yards – his second goal in three for the Rovers.
Millwey pinched a goal back against the run of play, breaking quickly and Wayne Jenkins finding the top corner from 25 yards.
The second half was just as routine, and although players tired, Rovers carried on pushing forward.
Peacock crashed in a brilliant header from an excellent Josh Rawlins crossed free kick, before rounding off the scoring with a superb lobbed effort from a wide angle.
This was an excellent run-out for the Rovers with Lloyd Cleal, on on his first start for Lyme in at least ten years, and Cam Fowler, in mid-field, impressing. Man-of-the-match Jonny Davies battled hard and drove play forward.
