Lympstone 2ndX1 2, Millwey Rise 2ndX1 3

Millwey Rise 2ndX1 put their lengthy drive behind them as from the start the yattacked the home side's goal with serious intent but it was Lympstone who created the best chances and it took some fantastic saves from stand-in keeper Ashley Hall to keep Ris' in the game.

After Millwey had wasted several more good opportunities a stunning strike from Lympstone's number 9 punished them. This was very much against the run of play but worse was to come as Milllwey pushed for an equaliser another great strike from the home side's number 9 and Rise'found themselves 2-0 down.

This was the kick up the backside Millwey needed and almost immediately Cameron Board produced a goal out of nothing, sliding in to poke the ball home. Rise equalised 2-2 when Jack Bennett, from the tightest of angles, scored a brilliant individual goal.

With the managers' half time words still ringing in their ears, Millwey started the second period full of promise and were close to taking the lead on a couple occasions.

Lympstone also had chances in this evenly balanced match. But as the game seemed to be heading for a draw some brilliant, composed play in the area from Ben Rosling set up Jack Bennett for his second goal of the game.

Millwey then clung on to their 3-2 lead and their first win of the season but were given a fright when Lympstone's final kick of the game rattled their woodwork.

Millwey's management team of Terry Male and James Morgan said: "We couldn't be prouder of the whole team for the fight they showed".

Man-of-the-match was given to returning player Dave Bridges who was sensational in midfield. Two other players who certainly pushed him for the title were Ashley Hall, who was a commanding presence in goal and Imran Chowdhury, a 'giant' in the heart of the Rise defence.
