Against Devon and Exeter Division Eight bottom side Lympstone, Millwey really turned the screw with a great display of attacking football to climb back into the table's top four.

The game was marred in the first minutes when Millwey's Wayne Jenkins, diving to head a clearance, met the boot of an attacking forward and was stunned for several minutes. He eventually left the field blood streaming from the resulting injury to his head.

Will Osborne came on as his replacement in time to see Jack Bennett fire in a low shot to open the scoring. Rise laid a constant siege on the visitors goal and after Jo Osborne had fired a shot just over the bar he quickly made amends and netted from a Bennett assist and a two-goal lead.

He followed this up minutes later with a powerful shot that hit the upright. A great long range strike from Josh Marlowe gave the keeper no chance and increased the lead to three goals.

Twenty six minutes into the half Osborne fed Bennett to net his second goal and Millwey's fourth. Bennett was a constant thorn in Lympstone's side hitting the bar before another Osborne assist gave him his hat-trick and'Rise five. It was not until the closing minutes of the half that Lympstone got their first telling strike on goal.

Millwey began the second period on the attack and ten minutes after the re-start Callum Farquhar fed Josh Marlowe who made it six.

The management team then made the first of a series of changes with Corbyn Wilson replacing Joe Osborne. Bennett was again on target when he converted a Cameron Board assist for his fourth goal and Millwey's seventh.

Another series of substitutions took place before a powerful Corbyn Wilson drive flew into the visitors net for goal number eight.

Lympstone applied a few minutes of pressure on the Rise defence and were awarded two corners in quick succession before Millwey's final goal of the nine came courtesy of Cam Board. The visitors scored a consolation goal in the dying minutes of the game to spoil a Millwey clean sweep.

Jack Bennett was Millwey's man-of-the-match with his four goal tally. Joe Osborne, Callum Farquhar and Bogdan Tudor were praised by the management team for their strong showing throughout a game where everyone gave 100 per cent. Three Osborne brothers played for Millwey in this match. A very proud moment for their father who was watching the game..
